Hi Tom, was wondering why did you say sherline cnc mill wasn’t accurate ? Which cnc mill would you buy if you get the chance to go back in time and redo the watch again ?
Hi Brian, theres a very true adage of “you get what you pay for” and the Sherline is a great starting mill, but long term doesn’t have the precision required.. I’ll do a quick post about mill types when I get a few minutes, as it seems to be something there’s not a lot of info about
Excellent job. I have ambitions to fabricate my own watch. Just starting out….totally overwhelmed with trying to pick a milling machine. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I could see that there is a lot of trial and error.
Congrats Tom, just caught up with your blog since i last visited just before X’mas. So much progress.
Kind Regards,AndrewK
Thanks Andrew, hopefully lots more to come this year!
